South View is a stone built, grade two listed, cottage, in Low Row, in the centre of Swaledale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Recently renovated, including full central heating, decorated and furnished to a high standard, it offers self-catering accommodation, with two bedrooms, sleeping three. We welcome couples, small families and groups of friends. The accommodation is flexible with ziplocked twin beds and a travel cot, high chair and baby bath are available.
An ideal base for a wide range of year round activities including walking, climbing, caving, riding, mountain-biking, touring, bird-watching, painting, photography or just relaxing around the log burning stove.
The historic landscape is dominated by centuries of lead mining, from Roman times to the late 19th century. It is now rich in historical remains, wild-flower meadows, rivers and waterfalls, ancient paths and tracks and an abundance of wildlife.
The cottage has marvellous views in all directions, in fact, boasting one of the best views from any village in Swaledale.
The cottage is 100 metres from The Punch Bowl, an award winning pub serving good food and traditional local ales.
South View is available for weekly lets throughout the year, and weekend and mid-week breaks, booked within four weeks of the let.
You can check the weather in the village here - the view you see on this site is just 250 metres along the village from the cottage. The cottage is non smoking and we do not allow pets.
Please be aware that mobile phone signals are intermittant in the dales. At the cottage only Orange and 3 Mobile networks are available. Wireless broadband is available at the cottage for a small extra charge.
South View has been awarded a 4 star rating from Enjoy England.
